Job Title: Payroll Bookkeeper – Hospitality Group

About the Opportunity
We are working with a dynamic and growing hospitality group with a portfolio of diverse and innovative concepts. Known for creativity, personality, and excellence in service, the group is now seeking a Payroll Bookkeeper to join their team in New York.
This role is critical to maintaining accurate financial records, supporting payroll functions, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across the organization. It’s a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional looking to grow within a vibrant, fast-paced hospitality environment.
The Role
As Payroll Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for:
- Managing daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Processing payroll in compliance with state and federal requirements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Handling reconciliations, journal entries, and maintaining the general ledger.
- Managing vendor payments and maintaining positive supplier relationships.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Supporting payroll functions, including tip credit compliance and multi-location staff support.
- Working closely with internal teams and external partners to maintain financial accuracy.
Skills & Experience
- Proven bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally within hospitality or a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems — Paycom, Paylocity, or ADP Workforce experience required.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop, Excel, and Google Sheets.
- Understanding of financial processes including AP/AR, reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
- Familiarity with New York tip credit regulations (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
