Head of Operations – Leisure + Fitness  

Salary                  £70,000 – £80,000+

Location               London

I have a great opportunity with a premium fitness studio looking for a Studio Operations Manager to drive the studios operations and guest experience. You are in the studios every day; and you are ensuring the team are upholding the highest standards managing both your team and third-party vendors to deliver on these standards. You set and maintain the premium standards on studio equipment, customer service, cleaning, and maintenance.

Role

  • Drive the studios operational principles as laid out in the operations manual, support in creating any additional content like updating studio handbooks.
  • Responsible for working within the budget ensuring all studios, and all equipment, are safe, legally compliant and that all certification is kept up to date.
  • Work to automate, streamline, and standardise all studio operations (where possible), so we can operate at economies of scale with all supplies and have an ease of operations.
  • Develop and execute an operational strategy to attract, engage, and retain guests.
  • Have commercial awareness and strategic focus.
  • Collaborate with the senior team to establish and manage the departmental budget.
  • Develop, train and motivate team.
  • Conduct regular surveys and collect feedback from guests to gauge satisfaction levels and identify areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with the senior team to develop targeted customer communications, including newsletters, emails, and social media campaigns.
  • Coordinate and oversee the contact database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records are kept.
  • Respond and react to in the moment studio emergencies, looping in all key stakeholders.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all Ops systems are kept up to date. 

Skills

  • Previous Senior Management experience IN Hotels, Hospitality or Fitness
  • Ability to adapt to different personalities and create meaningful relationships with guests and internal teams.
  • Ability to empathise with members and resolve conflicts in a professional and tactful manner.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other staff and members.
  • You are a clear and straight communicator (both oral and written) with the ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of having managed a thriving team and third-party suppliers.
  • Demonstrate quick, strategic, and creative thinking.  
  • proactive, autonomous mindset, curious to be continuously identifying new opportunities.
