Employment Associate – PQE 4+ – Cardiff
Location: Cardiff
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week (hybrid working available)
Salary: £50,000 to £60,000
PQE: 4 years +
Chadwick Nott are pleased to be working with a leading national law firm, currently seeking an Employment Associate Lawyer to join their successful Cardiff office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with solid experience in employment law to take the next step in their career. The role involves managing a varied caseload and advising on complex employment matters, particularly those involving equality, discrimination, and tribunal work. You will be joining a collaborative and forward-thinking team committed to delivering high-quality legal services and client care.
The Role
You will manage your own caseload and provide expert advice across a broad range of employment law issues. Responsibilities include:
- Advising on equality and discrimination matters
- Representing clients in employment tribunals
- Managing redundancy and restructure processes
- Drafting and reviewing employment contracts and policies
- Advising on TUPE transfers and employment terminations
- Negotiating settlements and leading client meetings
- Providing strategic legal advice and support throughout cases
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified Solicitor with proven experience in employment law. While no specific PQE level is stated, candidates should be able to demonstrate:
- Experience handling employment tribunal cases and discrimination matters
- Knowledge of redundancy, TUPE, and contract law
- Confidence in managing client relationships and complex negotiations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach
- Competence in Microsoft Office and case management systems
Location & Working Arrangements
- Based in Cardiff, with hybrid working available (minimum two days per week in the office). Candidates should live within reasonable commuting distance. Applications from those seeking alternative working patterns (e.g. four-day week) are welcome.
