Duty Manager – Contract Catering – Central London – £40,000
We’re recruiting Duty Managers to join a large University and established Contract Catering operation in Central London.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Catering or Duty Manager to oversee a busy retail, restaurant and hospitality operation, leading teams across multiple outlets within a vibrant university environment.
Salary & Benefits
- £40,000 salary
- 5 days over 7
- Predominantly Monday to Friday
- Around 1 weekend in 3
- Early shift: 7:00am-3:30pm
- Late shift: 11:30am-8:00pm

The Operation
- Large Higher Education catering contract.
- 5 food and beverage outlets.
- 2 coffee shops.
- Main restaurant and servery.
- Deli bar and retail catering.
- Around £10,000-£15,000 daily revenue.
- Hospitality events for up to 200 guests.
- Established team of around 43.
The Role
- Lead the catering operation during your shift.
- Oversee retail, restaurant and coffee shop service.
- Manage and motivate front and back-of-house teams.
- Ensure smooth opening, service and closing of outlets.
- Support weekend hospitality and events.
- Monitor sales, staffing and operational performance.
- Maintain excellent customer service and compliance standards.
About You
- Duty Manager, Catering Manager or Assistant Manager experience.
- Contract Catering or B&I background preferred.
- Experience managing busy, multi-outlet operations.
- Confident leading large teams.
- Commercially aware with strong customer service skills.
- Organised, hands-on and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
