People & Performance Manager – Non-fee Earning- Bristol
Location: Bristol (Hybrid 2 days a week in Bristol office)
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £60,000 to £70,000 (DOE)

A new opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate – People & Performance, a leadership focused role centred on team management, development and performance. This position is ideal for an experienced people manager seeking a strategic role focused on coaching, performance management and operational delivery rather than technical legal work.

The Role
You’ll be responsible for leading, motivating and developing a team to ensure exceptional service delivery and efficient caseload management. Working closely with the Senior Associate – Technical, you will:

  • Lead, support and inspire your team to meet objectives and deliver outstanding customer service
  • Manage recruitment, development, performance, conduct and absence in line with internal procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Build open, honest and supportive relationships to identify development needs and retain talent
  • Play an active role in the management team, contributing to a positive, high energy culture
  • Deliver and support change activities, ensuring your team is confident and engaged
  • Share knowledge and best practice across the wider management group
  • Work closely with senior leaders to meet SLA, KPI, financial and performance targets
  • Utilise Management Information to drive efficiency, throughput and departmental objectives
  • Ensure cases are managed cost effectively with strong oversight of financial performance

Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to an experienced people manager with:

  • Proven experience managing junior employees and addressing under performance
  • A strong customer focused approach, ideally with experience supporting insurer or commercial clients
  • Experience in a similar leadership or performance focused role
  • Ability to act independently while knowing when to escalate or seek support
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (desirable)
  • Strong capability in using and developing Management Information to manage performance
  • Sound commercial judgement and ability to identify risks and propose mitigation
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple commitments under pressure
  • Natural leadership qualities with the ability to motivate, influence and inspire
