We are working with a leading global hospitality company to find them a strategic and relationship-driven Senior Director of Development. The Role will lead growth and development across France and the Benelux region and is central to accelerating the company’s 2030 growth strategy. France is a key market where it aims to significantly increase its footprint across both franchise and managed properties and partnerships.
This role will be the face of the company’s mid-scale brands in the region, you will drive the full development lifecycle from expression of interest / RFP through pitch to deal completion, while building and nurturing a robust network of owners, partners, and industry stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the development pipeline across France and Benelux, managing opportunities from initial contact through to signed deals.
- Represent the company across its brands, with a particular focus on mid-scale, acting as the primary point of contact for owners, partners, and key industry figures.
- Build, nurture, and seed strategic relationships through active networking at industry events, private meetings, and region-wide engagement.
- Oversee a small team of direct reports, providing leadership, direction, and development support.
- Collaborate effectively within a matrix organisation, working closely with legal, finance, and pipeline leadership to ensure smooth deal execution.
- Enhance the company’s regional visibility by acting as a public representative – ideally as a speaker, panellist, or thought leader at industry forums and conferences. Exposure to this in a previous role would be favourable.
What You Bring
- Fluent French is mandatory; strong English proficiency is essential.
- Proven track record in hotel development, owner relations, or strategic business growth within the hospitality or property sectors.
- Exceptional people and relationship skills, with the ability to be both polished and consistently engaging with key stakeholders.
- Experience leading teams and managing complex, multi-party development processes.
- Comfortable operating in a matrixed global organisation, building strong internal rapport across functions.
- A proactive approach to visibility: eagerness to represent the brand externally and increase the company’s presence in the region.
